Garnock Connections Project – Summer 2019

Over the summer months we have been working with the team at the Garnock Connections Project, which focuses on engaging local people with wildlife habitats in the Garnock Valley area.

ReMode’s involvement has been to look at how nature can be the ultimate renewable and eco-friendly resource. For this we ran two walking and drawing workshops in Lochwinnoch where we collected and learned to identify wildflowers and seeds.

These were followed by further practical workshops where Gillian Steel shared techniques in natural dyeing using woad and printing using the ancient cyanotype technique.

We’re planning on running more workshops in natural dye and print techniques in the near future .
