This sociable and informal group meets once a week to help ReMode with a whole variety of tasks related to upcycling garments & fabrics. We’re always keen to hear from enthusiastic volunteers who share our ethos and have a willingness to learn! Tasks range from unpicking garments or removing zips and buttons, to helping finish garments by adding fastenings and finishing hems. There are also opportunities to make new creations for the shop. There are lots of opportunities to learn and develop new skills in sewing & garment construction.
Times:
Wednesday afternoons in the ReMode shop from 3.30-5.30 pm, with the option to work from home. To get involved or find out more about volunteering email paige@remodeyouth.org
The Change Room is a new programme for young people – launching in June 2021.
The project comprises creative activities and volunteering opportunities around a core theme of promoting and understanding sustainable clothing.
It’s designed to redress some of the effects of the C-19 global pandemic on young people in our communities.
See The Change Room for full details and to register an interest.
As a shop volunteer, you will become part of the ReMode team – serving customers and sharing information all about the work we do. You’ll also be involved with sorting through clothing donations and helping with general shop duties. You’ll get training in retail and also climate sustainability – it’s a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience while being part of a friendly volunteer crew!
This programme is currently on hold – but we’ll be resuming as soon as COVID restrictions allow.
