Heriot

Gillian & Kyna from ReMode spent four afternoons working with a group of P7 pupils from Heriot Primary in Paisley.

The aim of the sessions was to introduce the children to the idea of upcycling, and teach them some basic sewing techniques.

The children cut rectangle shapes from different colours of old denim jeans and decided how they would like to fit them together.  They initially combined the shapes with simple hand stitching and were then really excited when they also got to use the sewing machines!

The finished sections of fabric are being combined into a kimono jacket which will be featured in our fashion show in 2019.
