Flax to Linen teaches participants how to treat and spin local Scottish flax into yarn.  The yarn will be used in the later sessions to weave and knit linen fabric. The textiles made from this block of workshops will be used to make a final garment/ costume to show the whole process.

 

Spinning flax to linen will educate participants about Paisley’s world-renown textiles heritage through hands-on making and experiencing the process of creating fabric by passing-on traditional skills in spinning, weaving and dying.

The workshops are open to all levels of experience and will teach participants how to use spinning machines to create yarn from the flax plant.

Tickets are free for 11 – 25 year olds. There are x8 places for participants 11-25 years old.

Signing up allows you to take part in all 8 sessions – please let us know if you cannot make any of the dates.
