Ripped up by ReMode

Part eco-glam fashion show, part rock gig, Ripped Up by ReMode was the culmination of a year’s work at ReMode. All the clothes coming down the catwalk had been upcycled, re-made or created from repurposed discarded materials by the young people and older community members who attended our workshops, Make Weeks and Recycle or Dye sessions. Many of the models (aged 11-20) were themselves ReModistas and had been involved in creating the clothes. Local band Ghostbaby provided a live rock soundtrack for a sold-out night (it was standing room only by the end) held at the University of the West of Scotland’s Student Union in Paisley.

Huge thanks to LEAP (Local Energy Action Project), Renfrewshire Council and Keep Scotland Beautiful for support, to all the models (and their parents/carers), everyone who contributed time, effort and resources to this show, and everyone who made something at a ReMode workshop in 2017/18!
