In these COVID times, we’re doing what we can to adapt.

For now, we’ve had to set aside plans that involve working closely together in our indoor workshops, so we’ve been looking for alternatives.

We’re really lucky to have access to the back court behind our Paisley shop. With a little bit of work we’ve cleared the rubbish and transformed it into a perfect outdoor workshop space.

Our first outdoor workshop

The first Friday in October was an optimistic day to launch our outdoor space, but we were lucky with the weather!

Four groups of volunteers joined us over the course of two days to take part in some screen printing sessions. It was the first time we’d been able to get together in person with the volunteers for over 6 months – so just amazing to see everyone (albeit carefully socially distanced!).

Working with tutors Gillian Steel and Josef McFadden, the volunteers printed second hand T shirts and other old garments with slogans and images – based on the theme “Turn the Tide” – saving old unwanted clothing from landfill and transforming it into splendid new stock for the ReMode shop.

The weather and COVID will dictate when we’re next able to get together – but we’re looking forward to it, whenever that may be!
