Make & Mend: Boro & Sashiko stitching

Join us for a Boro & Sashiko stitching Make & Mend special. Learn how to use embroidery thread to mindfully mend and patch garments with this visible mending techniques originated in Japan. Bring your damaged denims or pieces to patch, or use our donated stock to practice these stitch techniques. All threads, embroidery hoops and guidance are provided.
This workshop is suitable for a beginner with no experience, and will teach basic Boro & Sashiko techniques. A relaxed and informal session, we have space for x8 free participants each week between the ages of 11-25 years old. Over 25 and looking to get involved? Join in as a volunteer to share your skills (even if it’s just tidying up!) sew along and make use of the workspace facilities by booking a volunteer place.
If you have a mending project in progress you are always welcome to bring it along to use the facilities and sew along with us, just book a place.
