Working on the theme of relocalisation, participants will create a weather adaptable wearable dwelling using discarded Scottish fabrics and garments, such as wool and linen, which have been handmade and manufactured in Scotland.
During the 5 sessions you will begin to explore the following techniques;
- Printing and natural dyeing
- Sewing and hand stitching techniques
- Embroidery and mending
- Knitting and weaving
- Textile waterproofing and weather proofing
- Plant and harvest flax seeds and nettles to make yarn and thread
- Communicating Stories
Led by designer KengKeng Watt. For ages 13-25. No experience necessary.
5 week block on Tuesdays 6.30-8.30pm. 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th July and 1st August.
