Zine making workshops
Thursdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm, 3rd October – 28th November 2024
(There will be no zine-making workshop on Thursday 17th October)
Participants are encouraged to sign up for the full 8 weeks to form a group that regularly works together to produce the 9th issue of Clout! which will launch in 2025.
Clout! issue 9 will relate to ReMode’s programme for 2024-25 “Through the Mill – Stories of Resilience and Renewal” and respond to themes of Paisley’s textile heritage, resilience and renewal, textiles industries in Scotland, making and mending, traditional skills, how people have related to garments through time, sustainability and textile production and other aspects that participants choose to bring to the project.
Week 1: Intro to Zine making
Thursday 3rd October
Participants learn about zines and make their own mini-zines – a little bit about what zines are for and what they can do, where participants are taught to make A4 fold-out zines during the workshop.
Week 2: Writing about you and your work (Guest facilitator: Ross McFarlane)
Thursday 10th October
Participants learn how to write about their work and experiences in different forms – exhibit descriptions, mini-essays, fiction, poetry. This should prepare participants for writing about the work they’ll do in the rest of the series.
