The Labels Project 2019/2020
“Exploring identity through fashion is an intrinsic part of growing up. A positive sense of identity is essential to a sense of wellbeing, self esteem and confidence.”
ReMode worked with a group of young people in Paisley from Summer 2019 through to February 2020. The Labels Project was a programme of creative workshops aiming to give young people the opportunity to explore what fashion means to them and how it impacts on their sense of identity. The project introduced the groups to creative skills in fashion design, creative writing and print making.
In this short film by Kevin Cameron, project participants, writer Kirstin Innes, designer Niki Taylor and ReMode Creative Director Gillian Steel talk about their experiences of the project.
