The Yang Collective – Shirt Making Workshops.   Paisley. September 2019

The Yang Collective’s first project was a series of shirt-making workshops.  The group of under 15 year olds spent 4 weeks learning how to follow a pattern then pin, tack and machine sew fabric to make some incredible garments – all made with upcycled materials.

Creation of the complex and stylish garments took lots of concentration and boundless enthusiasm.    The boys had never used a sewing before but quickly picked up some impressive skills.

Carolyn Edmondson, ReMode’s sewing tutor said

“This was such a fun class to teach.  The boys were so keen and learned so quickly – and they’re so  entertaining to work with!”

The boys will be carrying on with future projects with ReMode where they can continue to enhance their new found sewing skills!
